The Edge Building
The Edge Building in Bellville is a green building and was constructed by WBHO. StarComms was contracted as a sub-contractor to Harris Electrical to supply and install the early warning fire detection system, access control system, CCTV system, Fire telephone system, Intercom systems, Vehicle barriers and interface to various third-party systems. During the execution of the building the design changed from a single tenant building to a multi-tenant building.
These changes brought about some quick design requirements which we were able to achieve with no cost implication. The IP Based Saflec Access Control System and MK4000 Fire detection system is also seamlessly integrated to achieve all relevant compliances in accordance with SANS10139 and SANS10400. Reliability, operational results and useable footage are key performance indicators of the technology and aftersales service was a key requirement which we continually deliver on.
An important aspect is to be able to deliver the work within agreed timelines and to be able to meet all required quality as well as safety standards.
